Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need fly fishing experience to book a charter?
Not at all. I take anglers of every skill level, from complete beginners to folks who've been fly fishing for forty years. I'll coach you on casting and technique right there on the water — no prior experience required.
What species can we target on a Pine Island fly fishing trip?
Pine Island's backcountry holds tarpon, snook, redfish, and sea trout, among others. What we target on your trip depends on the season, tides, and conditions on the day.
What's included in the charter — do I need to bring my own gear?
I provide all the gear you need. Just show up ready to fish. Check the 'What to Bring' section on the Services page for a short list of personal items to pack.
What charter lengths do you offer?
I offer half-day charters, six-hour charters, and full-day charters. If you're not sure which is right for you, reach out and I'll help you figure it out based on your goals and group.
How far in advance should I book a guided trip?
I run limited dates each season so spots fill up. I'd recommend booking as early as you can, especially for peak tarpon season. Reach out by phone or email and we'll find a date that works.
Is Captain Stuart licensed and insured?
Yes. I am a certified captain, licensed and insured. Every trip runs with your safety and experience as the priority.
