Where We Fish

Fishing Guide in Bokeelia

Bokeelia is the quiet northern end of Pine Island, and if you want to fish where the locals fish without the crowds, this is the place I take clients.

On the Water

Fishing Bokeelia

Out of all the areas I serve, Bokeelia feels the most remote and unspoiled. This is Charlotte Harbor country, where the water opens up and the fishing becomes more about covering water and finding scattered fish. The harbor itself is massive and relatively shallow, with productive grass flats that hold redfish and spotted seatrout throughout the year. What I appreciate as a captain is the variety of structure available, from the deep spoil islands to the oyster beds that line the mangrove shores. Bokeelia also provides the best access to the outer islands and the Gulf when conditions allow, giving us options that some of the more protected areas lack. The fishing here is less about finesse and more about locating fish, which often means running and polling the flats until we find active feeding zones. It is a different pace than the canal fishing around Cape Coral, and clients who want a more adventurous charter often prefer this area.
