Fishing Guide in Pine Island
Pine Island is my home water, and after fishing these flats and passes for years, I know where the fish hold in every season and condition.
Fishing Pine Island
Pine Island is the largest island in the region, and the water surrounding it is what I fish most often. Matlacha Pass on the west side and the sound to the east give us a huge area to work with, mostly shallow grass flats, mangrove shorelines, and oyster bars. This is redfish and trout central. The redfish here are plentiful, and while they can be finicky in the skinny water, they're there. The trout fishing is excellent, especially in the summer months on the deeper grass flats. The passes between the islands give us access to snook, and we target them heavily in the cooler months when they move through. What makes Pine Island special is how well I know it. I've spent years learning this water, and that translates into more fish in the box for you. The area is also unique culturally. Matlacha has that old Florida fishing village feel, and there are some great seafood places to grab lunch. The fishing here is consistent from season to season, with the best redfish action in fall and winter, solid trout in summer, and good snook in the transitional months.

What Anglers Say
“I had a great time yesterday on the water with Capt. Stu. He took me on an all day trip and did not disappoint. Got me my first redfish and tarpon which we leadered to the boat and he shoot back off under the boat and broke us off. To top it off that got me my first inshore grand slam which was an awesome experience! I will definitely be booking again with Capt. Stu”
“Had an excellent time the guy seems real knowledgeable about the fish in the area and everything going on with the fishery. Would def go again!”
