Six-Hour Charter

The six-hour trip is the most popular option I run, and for good reason. Six hours gives us the time to follow the tide properly — to start on one piece of water, move when the bite shifts, and push deeper into the backcountry if that's where the fish are.

  • We're not rushing, and we're not stuck in one spot
  • This is the trip I'd recommend to any angler who is serious about fly fishing and wants a real day on the water
  • Out of Pine Island, six hours opens up a lot of water
  • We can work the mangrove shorelines and oyster bars in the morning, slide into tighter backcountry channels as the tide moves, and still have time to make a run if we hear about fish somewhere else
  • I'm always watching the water, reading the bait, and adjusting the plan
  • That flexibility is what makes this length work so well for sight-fishing
  • The six-hour trip includes everything the half-day does, plus bottled water, ice, and snacks to keep you going through the morning
  • Fly gear is on the boat — G
  • Loomis, Sage, Hardy, and Orvis rods from 7 to 12 weight, flies, leaders, tippet, and your Florida saltwater fishing license
  • Bring polarized sunglasses and a hat
  • I'll handle the rest

Six-Hour Charter FAQ

Why is the six-hour trip your most popular option?
Six hours gives us enough time to actually follow the tide and move around. A half-day can feel rushed if the fish are slow to show up early. A full day is a long time on the water in the Florida heat. Six hours hits the sweet spot — we cover real water and still have energy left at the end.
What species are we most likely to target on a six-hour trip?
That depends on the season, the tide, and what you came to catch. Pine Island's saltwater holds strong populations of sportfish year-round, and I'll put together a plan based on the conditions and the best available bite for that day.
Is the six-hour trip good for experienced fly anglers?
Yes — this is the trip I'd point a serious fly angler toward. We have enough time to be selective, to pass on smaller fish and wait for a good one, and to cover multiple pieces of water if the first spot is slow.
What's included on the six-hour trip?
All fly gear, flies, leaders, tippet, your Florida saltwater fishing license, bottled water, ice, and snacks. You're welcome to bring your own rod if you have a setup you prefer.
Can two anglers share the six-hour trip?
Yes, the boat is set up for up to two anglers. Both guests rotate on the bow so everyone gets quality casting time throughout the day.
