Good to Know

Frequently asked.

I've never fly fished. Can you teach me?
Absolutely. A solid amount of our trips are with first-time fly anglers. We'll go over casting, line management, and presentation on the boat — and pick water that gives you the best chance of catching a fish on day one.
How many anglers can come along?
Up to 2 anglers per trip. The Mosquito skiff is built for fly fishing, which means one person on the bow at a time — but two anglers can absolutely share a day, swapping shots between fish.
What's the best time of year to fish?
Pine Island fishes year-round. Tarpon peak March through June when the migratory schools push through. Snook fish hard from spring through fall. Redfish are catchable every month of the year — and winter low tides are some of the prettiest sight-fishing of the season.
Where do we launch from?
Pine Island, Florida. Once you book, we'll send you a launch location, dock directions, and a packing list. Most trips meet at a public ramp on the island or in nearby Matlacha.
Do you offer conventional (spinning) tackle?
RescueFly Charters is fly-first — that's the focus. If you have a mixed group and want to throw spin gear part of the day, reach out and we'll talk through what works.
What if the weather goes sideways?
Safety first, every time. If a captain-call cancellation is needed for weather, you get a full refund or a free reschedule. We watch the forecast and reach out the day before if anything looks off.
Cancellation policy?
Deposits are refundable up to 7 days before your trip. Inside of 7 days, we'll do everything we can to reschedule.
